Soft Acrobatics Mentorship

Weekly small group classes

We meet on a weekly basis to work on intermediate moves in a small group of dedicated people. The meetings are taking place at Kampfkunstschule Neukölln.

For anyone who wants to dive deep in teaching & practice of Soft Acrobatics.

Welcome to my Soft Acrobatic Mentorship program, a hybrid format where you can progress as teacher and practitioner alike.

My mentorship is designed for those eager to explore acrobatics in-depth, focusing on two key areas: developing your own training and gaining guidance in teaching acrobatics. Participants will have the opportunity to develop their own acrobatic practice while receiving personalized mentorship from experienced instructors like myself.

Gymnastics Foundation

The first phases of the mentorship have a strong emphasis on gymnastic training, using it to build a solid foundation of strength, flexibility, and body awareness.

Basic Moves

Participants will learn foundational moves such as rolls, handstand kick-ups, cartwheels, and handstands through a variety of exercises aimed at developing body positions and techniques while at the same time learning the method behind these exercises and how to use them as a teacher.

Various Disciplines & Intermediate Moves

As the mentorship progresses, participants will explore various soft acrobatic disciplines to expand their skill set. From Capoeira, incorporating arching acrobatics and interactive playfulness, to Breakdance, focusing on rolls, shoulder stands, and dynamic movements, and Tricking, exploring flips, kicks, and twists, my mentorship offers a diverse range of experiences to enrich your acrobatic journey.

STRUCTURE OF THE PROGRAM

Theoretical Foundation

The year always starts with one month of theory sessions about general biomechanics and training theory. The rest of the year we dive into the practice. Nevertheless, joining in is possible the whole year through as you can just participate in the theory month in the next year.

Practice Sessions

We meet on a weekly basis to practice together. In this meeting I will show you new exercises and give you feedback, as well as correcting your form and answering your questions.

Personal Practice

The rest of the week you are encouraged to work on your homework based on your personal training plan. This training plan will be updated troughout the year, depending on your progress and your needs. There will also be homework related to our practice sessions, to progress together and work on specific moves, skills and teaching preparation.

Teaching Experience

Additionally to your own training progress, you will be able to gain experience in structuring a class and teaching it. We start be practicing this together in our small group, but there will be possibilities of teaching at Bewegungskollektiv Berlin as well.

 FAQs

  • The mentorship is open to every level as the focus is not (only) on performing the exercises but also on how to teach them. If you want to get the most out of it and progress your own training, some basic experience is recommended (locomotion, short wall assisted handstand - no balance)

  • Yes, absolutely! The teaching aspect mostly means, that i explain the exercises and movements in detail. I take time to explain the principles deeply and make sure that you can see & learn. This will help your own training tremendously!

  • Everybody looking to develop their own acrobatic training or teaching and wants to dig deep.

  • The weekly session goes for 2 hours. To get the most out of it, I recommend to take 1-2 hours per week to practice the exercises at home.

  • To allow close and direct support i keep the weekly sessions to a small group (max 5 pers.). Additionally I will evaluate your progress either in person or online via whatsapp/ signal.
