Reconnect Through Movement.

Clara Lohmann

About me

Welcome! I'm Clara, a passionate personal trainer dedicated to helping individuals achieve harmony between body and mind through mindful mobility training and Tai Ji. My mission is to guide you on a journey of self-discovery, improved physical well-being, and mental clarity.

My Approach

In today’s fast-paced world, it's easy to get caught up in the rush of daily life, often leading to stress, tension, and a disconnect between body and mind. I believe that true wellness comes from aligning these elements, which is why I focus on mindful movement practices that promote balance, flexibility, and inner peace.

Through my training sessions, you'll learn how to move with intention, breathe with awareness, and cultivate a deep connection to your body. Whether you're looking to improve your mobility, manage stress, or simply find a moment of calm in your day, my approach is designed to meet you where you are and help you grow.

Why Mindful Mobility and Tai Ji?
Mindful mobility training is about more than just physical exercise; it's a holistic practice that enhances your body’s natural movement patterns, reduces pain, and increases overall functionality. By incorporating elements of Tai Ji, an ancient Chinese martial art known for its slow, flowing movements, I help you develop greater body awareness, strength, and flexibility while calming the mind.

Together, these practices create a powerful synergy that can transform your approach to both fitness and life.

My Journey

My journey into movement is a bit different from most trainers. I wasn’t a sporty child — in fact, I hated school sports and instead I was SO into arts. While I was always active in my own way — climbing trees, building huts in the forest, and playing with my pets — I struggled with the belief that 'I’m not good at sports' for a long time.

It wasn’t until my teenage years, when I turned to movement to cope with mental challenges, that I began to redefine my relationship with physical activity. Unlike the rigid structure of school sports, I found a deep, personal connection to movement by exploring it on my own terms. This self-guided journey not only strengthened my body but also gave me mental clarity and resilience.

While pursuing my B.A. in Business Administration and M.Sc. in Business Intelligence, I continued to study various movement disciplines. Despite the academic path I was on, my true passion always lay in movement training. After completing my studies, I made the pivotal decision to follow my heart and dedicate myself fully to this passion.

I spent several years immersed in a movement community in Berlin, where I had the privilege of learning from acrobats, martial artists, dancers, and circus performers. This experience deepened my understanding of the body in motion and enriched my practice.

Following this, I moved to the XUAN Gong Fu Academy, where I delved deeply into the internal martial arts, discovering my love for Tai Ji and Qi Gong.

Because of how my whole journey started, I am convinced that everyone can move. You don’t need to be sporty to enjoy movement. You just need to open yourself to the possibility to move. My focus is on helping individuals shift from being "in their head" to getting into their body and learning to enjoy movement.

I am passionate about guiding you to rediscover the joy and ease of moving your body, and I look forward to helping you on your journey towards a more connected and intuitive way of living.

My Inspiration & Teachers

Throughout my journey, I’ve been fortunate to learn from a variety of practices and teachers who have profoundly shaped my approach to movement. Here are some of the most influential ones:

Stefan Müller (Xuan Gong Fu Academy):
In recent years, my training has centered around the teachings at Xuan Gong Fu Academy under Stefan Müller. Here, I’ve gained invaluable insights into body posture, fascia training, dynamic movement, speed, and the art of calming the mind. The experience has been transformative, elevating both my personal practice and teaching methods to new heights. I am deeply grateful for the growth I've experienced here.

  • Since 2021: Teacher Training Program for Tai Ji and Qi Gong

  • 2022 - 2024: Full-Time Program (Tai Ji, Qi Gong, Ba Gua, Chinese Kickboxing, Sword, BJJ)

Kerem Shemi:
My journey into internal martial arts truly began in 2019 when I started training with Kerem Shemi in her Kung Fu Dance class. Kerem’s exceptional quality of movement and her unique teaching style opened up a new world for me and has been a significant influence on my training. Her approach continues to inspire me daily.

Movision Movement:
In 2017, I joined Movision Movement, my first dedicated movement group. It was here that I was introduced to soft acrobatics, animal flow, contemporary dance, and martial arts. The immersive, hands-on training, coupled with my role in supporting the group’s organization and communications, allowed me to learn intensively from the teachers and grow within this dynamic community.

Ido Portal Method:
Between 2014 and 2016, I encountered the Ido Portal Method through a calisthenics group at my gym. Although I never trained directly with Ido Portal, following his training plans significantly influenced my understanding of movement and expanded my approach to training.

David Grey:
After sustaining a shoulder injury, I turned to Postural Restoration Institute (PRI) methods, introduced to me by Kazufumi Nischimura, for rehabilitation. This led me to David Grey's work. I’ve since purchased several of his rehab programs and continue to learn through his Biomechanics Education DGR Interactive, which has been instrumental in refining my understanding of biomechanics and injury recovery.

Dr. Julia Rakus & Helga Baumgartner:
Before fully immersing myself in movement training, I practiced yoga under the guidance of Dr. Julia Rakus and Helga Baumgartner. Their teachings greatly influenced my understanding of how a well-structured training session can positively regulate the nervous system while enhancing range of motion. Their impact continues to inform my approach to movement and training.

What You Can Expect
When you train with me, you can expect a personalized approach that is tailored to your unique needs and goals. My sessions are a blend of mindful mobility & strength exercises, and Tai Ji and Qi Gong techniques, all designed to help you reconnect with your body and mind.

No matter if we practice Tai Ji or mobility, I like to bring core principles from Qi Gong:

  • Mindfulness (increasing range of motion through gentle movements)

  • Less Active Thinking (get out of your head)

  • Breathing (connecting to our breath, using our breath)

  • NOT Tension versus Tension (not forcing positions but opening the body so positions become easy)

Whether you're a beginner or an experienced practitioner, I will work with you to create a practice that fits well into your life, providing you with tools that you can use both in your training and in your daily life.
